The train depot dates back to 1909, when Paint Bank was the final stop of the Potts Valley Branch line of the Norfolk & Western Railway. This expansion was part of the mining boom of the early 1900s. The Depot was renovated and converted into a charming lodge, while maintaining much of the original architecture.

The main section of the Depot Lodge features 4 rooms upstairs, each with private bath, a gas log stove, and the soothing sounds of flowing water from nearby Potts Creek. The Lodge also offers a master suite with private bath, living room and deck overlooking the water. A cozy one-room bedroom in our renovated Norfolk & Southern Caboose is also available.

Located right next door to the historic Depot Lodge is our newly renovated Secton Forman's cottage, circa 1910. The cottage served as the residence for section of the Potts Valley Branch of the Norfolk & Western Railroad between Waiteville and Paint Bank.

Reserve the cottage for your next family getaway or outdoor adventure. The cozy 2 bedroom cottage sleeps up to 6, with a queen bed and bunkroom, and features 2 gas fireplaces, living room, dining room, fully equipped kitchen, mud room, and laundry room, plus a rear deck overlooking Potts Creek.

Just "down the road a piece" from the Main Lodge is the luxurious log cabin, located on picturesque Potts Creek. The newly constructed, 3-bedroom cabin includes 2 master bedrooms and a sleeping loft, a fully appointed kitchen, 2 full baths, a fireplace, and a laundry room. Relax on the front and back porches to the soothing sounds of the babbling creek.
